Stone in left lower part of Ureter

Hello nk007....... I just joined the forum a couple of days ago, so I imagine it is probably too late to give you any advice to help you pass that stone. How did everything "come out"? I have had apprx. 8 stones over my last twenty five years, I am now 61. Fortunately, all of them have passed on their own without requiring cystoscopy, stents, lithotripsy or surgery. They have ranged in size from 2 mm. to 6 mm. Only once did I have more than one at a time. My last episode had a 3 mm. and a 6 mm. concurrently. The smaller one eventually dissolved and passed like sand grains. But, the 6-er took a couple of weeks to leave the confines of my lower urethra. I had consumed voluminous amounts of fluids, mostly water and finally flushed it out. (Reminded me of that movie, "Deep Impact"). Most of your stones will form in the same part of your kidney each time. Apparently there are little architectural anomalies that predispose to their formation and shape. So, most of the time they will look quite similar. The doctor always wants you to send them off to have them analyzed to find out what they are made of, so you can adjust your dietary intakes accordingly. Most of them are calcium oxalate, but...I have elevated levels of uric acid in my blood which causes me to have recurrences of gout in my big toes. I really believe there is some metabolic correlation between elevated uric acid and the formation of stones, even if they are primarily of the calcium type. So, it might do you good to have your uric acid checked and make some dietary changes to get that level down also. If diet alone can't do the trick, you may have to take some medication, like Allipurinol to control it. There are some herbals which also do a good job of controlling uric acid if you take them on a daily basis as a preventative. (tart cherry extract, celery seed extract, turmeric). If you think you have a stone, start drinking some aloe vera juice which you can buy in any health food store. It will lubricate the ureters and help the stone pass more easily. And continue to drink a lot of liquids (a six pack of beer works wonders if you are so inclined). As a preventative to the formation of calcium oxalate stones, cut down on your oxalate rich foods like red meat and green leafy vegetables, and chocolate. On a daily basis mix 2 tablespoons of reconstituted lemon juice in a glass of pure water and drink it. This will acidify the bladder contents and help prevent stones from forming even at the kidney level. I hope these tips will help you tolerate this very painful affliction. Good Luck.

Vinegar can disolve kidney stones. Just drink some vinegar mixed with water 1 hour after meal often to disolve the stones.

 

Anyone with kidney stones kept after their kidney stones operation can do this test, drop the kidney stones into 100% vinegar and observe the stones daily and you will see the stones dissolving.
