Doing Fine with Pain But what about this pressure I feel?

Hello wonderful people out there I was wondering if someone could help me sleep or a technique to sleep with this darn pressure Im feeling on my kidney I have a tumor the size of of right kidney growing on my right kidney and somedays its painful but others its sooooo uncomfortable cause of the pressure im feeling. Its almost has there is someone in there pressing down on my tumor. But the good thing is that Im have been urinating clear now no more blood for the time being I hope! But I just wish I could figure out how to cope with this. Not to long before my surgery now its on march 15th 2010. So I hope someone can help.

Hey Brad, sorry it has taken so long to get back with you. I have been trying to call my mom to ask her some of the question you asked and for her to share her experience but she has been working an awful lot and i still haven't been able to get ahold of her. Have you tried using a pregnancy pillow??? I know that might sound odd to you but they are very long and can twist around your body any way you need to. I use one for my joint/muscle pain and it is great!

Hello Amy,

     Thanx getting back to me and its ok if u havnt got back so soon! Im just happy u got back to me! :) Umm.. Monday is D-day the surgery is at noon and alittle nervous cause they were tellin me some variables that might happen and not to be alarmed they happen, like excess bleeding when deattaching the kidney cause of the major blood vessels and that if that happens they will have to do a emergancy blood transufion. And if thats the case they will have to open me up larger then doin the lyposcopic on me. Well gotta alot of stuff to do today not feelin well on top of all this my wife is alittle worried cause if I am sick it will affect me healin in the hospital. So thanx once again for getting back to me and thankfully the pressure has gone done to alittle discomfortable.

I will be praying for you, your family and your doctors.

I had major surgery in 2006 and I know how nerve racking it can be before hand. Once I got to the hospital the day of the surgery I felt much better because everyone who worked on me was so positive and I could tell they were true professionals.

I know when my dad had his kidney transplant they suggested he get a body pillow for home. That way he could stay in the same bed with my mom and not worry about her coming onto his side of the bed.

Thanx so much for getting back to me its been so nice to hear peoples views other then my crazy familys! lol So tomorrow is D-day for me and I am so darn nervous dont no what to think. All I no is that when they take out this cancer I will feel better and hopfully it didnt spread to any place else. Well Im fasting now for the surgery so Im goin to lie down thanx again for the tip about the pillow! I will use it for sure cause my wife always likes to sleep right next to my ear lol!
