A'm MS patient with hydronephrosis in my left kidney and received about 3 times nephrostomy tubes because my left ureter have a blockage due to an urethral injury.
The tubes are inserted in my kidneys, which drain the urine to bags and also they had place about 8 times stents in my ureter and remove the tubes. After they had removed the tube hydronephrosis got worst.
The urologist had tries to re...pair the urethra by a Da Vinci robotic surgery and has not been successful.
I had been suffering chronic pain, frequently UTI, for about 4 years. My urologist suggests I remove the kidney due to an obstruction at the urethra , the urine can’t fluid to the bladder. But the sad is that the kidney is in very good condition.
I been reading and I find removing a kidney may result in a more rapid development of progressive kidney disease.
Do you think I may have need to take this into consideration before removing my kidney?
Has anyone had a similar experience or currently have kidney surgery? Would you please let me know your thoughts and advice? Thank you in advance.
