Lately for the past year I have been having problems with my kidneys, but the weird thing is one test they can be functioning fine and then another test they arent functioning hardly at all.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this sort of thing before as I alway thought that once you start having problems they sort of stay the same not chop and change like that.

Any advice would be appreaciated

Hey Tash,

 

I wish I had some answers or suggestions for you.  That does seem odd that the two tests would be so different?  I'm sure someone will come along soon and help you out.

Tash, what tests have you had to check your kidney function? There are several out there and they do differ significantly, so I wonder if perhaps you've just had several different types of tests that show varying degrees of kidney function. The kidneys function in SO many different ways, it's mind-numbing just to think about it.

My eGFr , Creatinine, urea have gone from being in the normal range to abnormal but from what I know my protein has been ok  and my sodium drops if I drink to much and currently only allowed 1.5 litres because of all the fluid retention and also recently started diuretics to get rid of all the excess fluid, i had gained (3kg) but as I said these can also come back in the normal range apart from the eGFr this has always been slightly abnornormal but goes from bad to worse

I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your kidneys. I hope that the doctor can figure out whats going on with them quickly. Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers always. You hang in there and keep fighting.
