Sores on the roof of my mouth!

For the last three days I have these huge sores on the roof of my mouth.  I can't tell if they are canker sores or lupus related sores.  I have never had them before, so just wondering what the difference is or if there is a difference.

I get a lot of mouth sores. They can be very painful so I feel for you. I believe they are caused by lupus as well as some of the drugs used in treatment. I have a prescription for magic mouthwash. It is equal parts of maalox, lidocaine and benadryl. You swish it around and it numbs your mouth allowing you to eat. I don't find it has an after taste but having a numb mouth may not suit everyone. People that take methotrexate sometimes take Folic acid to help with the side effect of mouth sores.  Hang in there. Christi 

I agree with Rosie, your sores definitely sounds like the lupus mouth sores. I too use the magic mouthwash, it especially works well for sores on the tongue and roof of your mouth. I also have an RX paste and folic acid. The folic acid works best for me, I usually take 3-4 1mg tabs a day and it does a great job at keeping them away!

Although I dont have an offficial dx of lupus, I have many symptoms, alway the way to the mouth sores, hate those ones on the tonge too. So this magic mouth wash, is a presctiption I am guessing?

I have some weird stuff my dentist gave me but it not really help too much. I also have some stuff called mouthkote, it helps a little bit.

Do any of you get bunches of sores around the outside of your mouth and lips too? if so what to you do about them?
