What exatly causes flares for you guys? Can you tell you are going to have one, if so how? And how long do they last?
Thanks for any input.

Hey Grammy,
For me its to much sun or not enough rest . My last flare lasted about
three months, but their not always that long, sometimes its just a few days, each of us are different. Hope this helps. LInda

Same for me - being in the sun, not enough rest, and stress can also bring on a flare for me. I've been in a flare for a month now, and it started by pulling an all-nighter for a class I was taking. (Yeah, dumb, I know!) It was a Friday night, so I thought if I rest all the rest of the weekend, I'd be fine. Nope. Adding to it that I had major stress going on at work, and there I was. I'm starting to crawl out of the flare now, but it's been an awful battle with breathing problems and all of that.
I can tell a flare is coming first when I feel what I call "lupus tired". It feels different than normal tired, it starts in my eyes and I just need to curl up and sleep. Everything is an effort, and then it just progresses from there.
As far as how long they last, it varies. It has gone on for three months, and as little as a few days once, when I caught myself quickly.
