Got Court hearing date for SSD...

I will have my day in beg. of Sept, I'm going to find an attorney today, at first I was thinking maybe I'll just go at it alone, but then I thought I better not... First applied on 8/2006, had 2 denial's, requested a hearing in 8/2007. Please pray for all of us that are waiting for approval.

How WONDERFUL that you have a court date scheduled, even if it is a while off yet. Make sure you find an attorney that specializes in SSD -- it has it's own special language that I guess only the "Great" are allowed to speak. Sure makes a person crazy! I wish you the best of luck. I'm so amazed at how efficient other states are - you have a date and it's only been 10 months since 8/2007!!! Here in SLOW MOVING, UNDERSTAFFED Georgia, I asked for a hearing 1/2006 and still don't have a hearing date scheduled (30 months & counting!) Cheers,

Thanks!! yes i'm happy and nervous. I didn't think it would come so soon, especially being in CA.

How pathetic to wait 30 months. Our system of care is so flawed. One should expect a hearing within a reasonable amount of time and get a decision one way or another.

It took me 3 tries and a lawyer to get it. I was lucky and had a decision from the judge within 2 weeks and a check within 60 days. My case was compelling but I still got turned down twice.

The lack of administrative law judges in some states is criminal.

Syl.. I was turned down in 06, but had long term disiabitly that was a life saver reapply with lawyer and won. March of 08. The judge told me right there, and I got my check in 3 weeks, the day after is when I got the letter. Good luck... Debbie Lyn I'm sorry you haven't heard anything yet I hope you get news soon.
