pain, go to the hospital or sleep it off...?

ok so...i was on my computer got up and had sudden pain in my right side. i can't tell if its kidney height or just under it. Its worse when i cough or move pretty much, i have no reg doc so im on no meds, i take up to 3 aleve or 6-8 tylenol a day depending on which the house has, its normally aleve though.

is this something i should sleep off, or call someone to go to the er, i haven't had any major organ involvement yet, but i really don't wanna risk it if this could be something bad.

hoping to hear from some of you night owls. oh and by the way, hi everyone, hope your all doing well, i've neglected my forum posting :)

I'm so sorry you are having so much pain! Normally, kidney involvement with Lupus does not involve flank pain. I wonder if you have a kidney stone? It wouldn't hurt to go to the ER and have it checked out! You probably won't sleep much anyhow! Better to ere on the side of caution! I certainly hope you feel better soon. God Bless you, Judy

I agree with Judy, starz,

If the pain is bad enough that you are taking that much medicine for it, then it's worth getting it checked out. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Starz, Just wondering how things went last night. Are you ok? Did you go to the ER. Are you saying you don't have a general practitioner? and you DO have a rheumy? In case you decided to stay home last night, and If you do have a doc (rheumy?)who could see you today, or one you could talk to today . . . that would be a great idea. Make sure you take your temperature first so you can give them that bit of info too. The sudden pain is always something that should get checked out. Keep us posted. Blessings!

thanx for all the thoughts and advice. i sat down and decided that my head wasn't screaming er at me and i should just lay down and try to sleep. turns out i'm pretty sure its just one of my pre-flare warning pains...just a new one lol.

and rosie, to answer your question, right now i am completely doctorless, the last clinic i went to said "well we don't treat things like that" and cook county hospital, which is where the clinic refered me to, has as they put it, "You're not in our system", as I put it "lost all my info, and since they're state sponsored doesn't really mind". anywho enough of my whining.

thanx again for all your answers, i'm sure you all understand - those strange new pains/symptoms that you have to question before you panic :P
