Yep. The ANA, anti-dna tests will tell if there is anything autoimmune going on. So that leaves the door wide open for a pile of diseases. From there, a specialist will take a look at your symptoms, narrow things down from there. It can take a long time to get a diagnosis of an autoimmune disease. Especially one that mimicks a bunch of others. Unfortunately, lupus is the grand poobah of mimicking. Other people get a clear diagnosis really fast. It took me almost a decade to get my diagnosis. A lot depends on your symptoms, how severe they are, and the blood test results.
