Could it be the weather change???

Hi Ya'll,  I woke up this morning and felt like I do when I go off plaquenil.  Totally exhausted, hives flaring up and hands really painful.  I noticed a lot of other seem to be flaring now as well.  I'm wondering if it may be the weather change.  We went from having super hot days to being relatively cool.  Temps in 70's and 50's at night.  Humidity is also down.  Strange thing is I felt pretty good two days ago.  Maybe it was just the calm before the storm.  The strange thing is that when I say I felt pretty good, I mean that I didn't feel terrible.  I don't even remember what it feels like to really feel good and sometimes I wonder if I ever will. Those who have been dealing with this disease a long time, when you go into remission do you feel like your self again or is it that you just don't feel terrible for a while.  I have been getting sicker and sicker ever since my son was born.  I have days when I don't hurt as bad or don't have horrible headaches and I call those good days.  I really need some hope here.  Does anyone ever feel totally well again with this disease, or do we just become adjusted to the constant aches and tiredness?  Sorry, this kinda turned into a sob vent.  But , thanks.  God bless you all.

Well I have to argee with you I hate to but I have to. The weather here in Oklahoma is never the same. And now it is like you super cold at night and super hot during the day. I woke up this morning and felt like I have been beaten with a bat, my hips feel like they are about to fall apart. I am so sorry that you are having pain I know how you feel sometimes good most of the time bad. I take my meds like i am suppossed to and today feels like I took nothing, I get the super horriable headaches and feel like I should just stay in bed. But with a job and kids and husband there just is no way possible to stay in bed all day. I'm sorry that you are feeling bad I hope that things get alittle better for you.. Have a great day.. I am one of those people who is very sensitive to barometer changes.  I live 30 minutes from the Rockies and when a weather system blows over those mountains, I get unbelievable headaches, body aches, etc. I feel just wretched.  I can predict a change in weather if it's severe, two days before it happens!  It's weird. This is the season where it all starts for me too.  Fall, winter, spring, can be really hard on me.  Makes my Fibro nuts.  So yes, I feel your pain 100%.  Sorry it's so rotten for you... I really do "get it".

I am new to all of this and I don't yet have any real diagnosis. I too just had a child, my second actually. I remember when i was younger, between "flareups" i felt ok.....I was able to accomplish so much, and i was very physical and felt normal for periods of time. Since my first child, I know there are times I have felt much better, just never fully me. I feel a sadness about that. Anyhow since my 2nd.......I hadn't felt this bad ever.......not 9 months after so I suppose this may be my worst flare yet....and I too wonder that maybe it's actually the weather changes or what.....we have hurricaine kyle passing close by on the heels of 3 days of rain. today is a really bad day. I usually do ok in hot/dry but put me in any kind of cold, especially wet/cold......i am a mess. Also do not discount fall allergies. when its dry and cool, i have huge problems b/c i am allergic to mold and the leaves fall get wet and moldy...then when its nice.......BAM all the mold is floating around in the air.

Jennifer, my body also reacts to weather changes. I know what you mean about good days. They aren't really "good", you just don't feel awful. I said that once I got lupus I had to change my definition of what a good day was. The problem is when I tell people that I'm having a good day, I think they think I feel totally healthy, which is far from the truth. I always have some degree of joint pain and fatigue, but a good day is a day where I can do a few things without having to crawl into bed. I don't know if I have ever officially been in remission, but a little while ago I had about 4 months of not feeling too bad. I didn't feel totally healthy, but I was able to do more than usually without having to have a lot of extra rest. I think I pushed it too far though and now I'm in a flare. It's hard to find a good balance. Hang in there and if you don't get some relief soon, call your doc.

Hi Jennifer. I don't know what was wrong with me this past week but I felt so tough, every day I would wake up fevered and just feeling like crap, but yet I really couldn't pinpoint what hurt other then my head. I get headaches all the time so that was nothing unusual but it hurt more then normal, but still not enough to make me say, "Oh that is why I feel so tough".

I really hate having Lupus and the weather changes makes me worse. Fall is certainly in the air and maybe that is why I was hurting so bad all week, it was gorgeous out and now this weekend it is cool and damp.

I hope you are feeling better, but ihave to say that I was glad to read that you get headaches alot too, I was thinking there was something wrong with me besides Lupus because my headaches all the time.

Hey Jennifer

Heck yes. I felt great for 3 months...then once day the fog made it over the hill. Some time last week. EVer since then I am quickly getting worse. Everyday a new symptom re-emerges!

I am having fevers , rashes and swelling, everyday a little more. I really think the cold has something to do with it. I have been good all summer.

I am already starting to fall back into depression mode and stay inside the house =(
