ivf and miscarriage

she has now had in total 7 miscarriages that last 2 were the result of iui and ivf. she cannot seem to get past 6 weeks and this is tearing her  apart. it has been going on now for nearly 6 years and she still has no baby. she now has one shot at ivf as she has 2 frozen embyos left to try with. she cannot afford anymore treatment after this. she has had every test she can possibly have and everything has come back normal. now, she has been speaking to people with immume system problems that are taking prednisolone to combat this and most seem to have clung on to their babies, so now she is wanting to know why can't she just try this to elliminate it as it seems to be working for so many other people. i myself have pred in my own medicine cabinet and would willing give her them if i thought it would help. but i would like to know what would happen if she took them and it wasn't her immune system at fault. i would do anything for my friend as she has been through so much, i would carry the baby for her if i wasn't on so many bloody drugs for my colitis. so can i do this one thing for her without any repercussions? i really want to do this for my friend, i'm not sure how much more disapointment she can take, Help!!

I can tell you are a very good friend..I have been through the IVF process and her RE needs to be aware of the fact that she has suffered so many miscarriages.  There is testing that can be done to find out the root of the problem and the appropriate treatment before her next cycle begins. 

Please do not give your friend the prednisolone, this is not a steroid that is used during IVF.  Your friend must sit down with her RE and decide on testing and treatment geared toward repetitive miscarriage.
