Just thought I would give her a call since we keep missing each other. She said she is at the hospital.She said she's having a lot of tummy pain so please keep her in your prayers. She is having such a rough time.

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear that Barb had to go to the hospital. Barb, you are in my prayers. Carol, thanks for letting us know what was going on.

Thanks for letting us know about Barb. Dang it, I'm so sorry to hear that she had to go to the hosptial. She has had such a hardtime of things! Please let her know I am thinking of her and will keep her in my prayers!

Barb was just seeing some doctors, she has *not* been admitted to the hospital. She had some unusually severe pain in the left abdomen she needed checked out - they've given her some more intense antibiotics & I'm sure she'll be around tomorrow after she gets some rest. You guys know how exhausting pain & doctors are!

Hey Barb - sorry I didn't call you back. I hate to hear how sick you are and hope you'll let us know you're ok. My life has spiraled out of control this week but I'll be back soon.

I don't think you freaked anyone out you didn't say she *was* admitted you said she went there. No one assumed you meant she was admitted.

Glad to see you post, I hope that means that you are home. I hope you are able to get some rest and when you are feeling better please post and let us know you are doing better.

Hi Everyone:

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers. Well I've got a very rare UTI infection. It's an infection that they normally only see in children. Last Tuesday they sent me home with antibiotics and wasn't sure what I had. Friday they called and told me about the UTI infection. Today the doctor called again and said they tested the antibiotic I'm taking against the infection and it's resistant to it. So I had to go and pick up new meds, if this doesn't kill the infection I'll have to be admitted for IV vancomycin.

I'm been told I'm not to take my Monday dose of MTX cause the vancomycin makes it more potent. I'll also have to go to the hospital on Weds or Thurs and have labs done. It's possible my blood counts will drop from having MTX in my system.

On Friday I'm having another mediport implanted into my chest. I'll be at the hospital at 9:30 and get IV meds and pred. They'll take me down to the special procedures room and sedate me, (hopefully last time they didn't sedate me enough with my endoscopy) it should take about 2 hrs to do the procedure. I'll spend 2 hours in the hem/onc clinic recovering. I'll be very sore for several days, but it's certainly worth it. Last time I was in the hospital they had to stick me 28 times before they could get an iv started. I'm praying I have good success with this port. My first one I had in my chest for 3 years before it became infected. Anyway, I'll drop a note in next weekend and let you know how things are going.

You sure are dealing with an awful lot. My heart and prayers go out to you.  I sure hope this new port works well for you too.  I'm so glad you touched base with us. We think of you a lot. ((((hugs))))

It just doesn't stop for you. I'm also praying for you Barb and hope you get through this week and can take a break from all of this. Bless you heart. I'm thinking about you all the time.
