Talked to Barb today.

Hi all I wanted to stop in and let ya know Barb is off to stay with her dad until the end of the month as I am sure some of you know she does it once a year. She doesn't have access to a computer there. Anyway she flew into town yester and and got a call. Her teen daughter Nakita was in the back yard in flip flops and got bit by a copper head! They rush her to the hospital and called ahead there was a snake bite patient coming in. Thank God it didn't get her too badly. Of course how bad a poisonous snake has to be I don't know. Nakita got to go home last night and it ooozed all night I guess but she will be ok. Hopefully There won't be any more fightening phone calls for Barb and she can enjoy the time with her father.

As for me I had my heart cath done. Everything went ok with my heart and the pressure to my lungs are A ok too! I couldn't get a better outcome than that. I did have a really bad time with the proceedure though. All he did we numbed the area around my groin and he couldn't get the cath in. They told my nurse that took care of me after wards that they had to make several attempts. I let out a scream once. I'm not a sissy but he hit the nerves in my leg and the pain shot all the way down both legs even though he only was by my right leg. They said it would take about 60 to 90 days to heal and I am pretty bruised up. I asked for something for pain while I was in recovery he gave me 1 tsp. of codein. I'm loosing track of all these test. I know thur is a pap smear. I need a mamagram and colonoscopy and the tube down the throat. Dentist and I don't even know how many parts I have left. Somtimes I just can't figure out if it's worth it. Anyway 'm having a rough time recoveing from this. Hopefully I will be ok by thrusday.

Thanks for the info about Barb, Carol. I hope the drugs are taking the edge off at least. My son had a heart cath, but he is young and healthy, but it must hurt because he was mighty grouchy when he woke up.  I'm glad the bite to Nikita was not as bad as it could have been. and I hopethey got her right to the doctor. My boyfriend was a venomous snake handler and the worst things about bites are often the pain and the loss of tissue at the bite site. but that is with totally healthy people. Im not sure that any of us here would do well witha snake bite. It takes a real toll on the liver and kidneys. I'm so glad to hear she is doing so well. It sounded like something I would do, minus the flips. More like I went outside and fell on my face on a snake. That's about my speed.  I can't imagine what Barb is going through with this. I'm glad she was well enough to get away for a while and Barb I hope you are having a good time and I'm so glad you are doing better.  You too, Carol. Now you both need to stay away from snakes.

You've been through so much, but all I can say is You go girl! You've accomplished so much since we went to Baptist for the informational meeting and I'm so proud of you. It would have been easy to give up and decide not to go through all those tests but you strong will prevailed! I hate to hear how bad the heart cath was & I hope the incision heals up fast. Just one more place to hurt, huh.

Barb had quite a scare with Nikkita. I'm glad it turned out ok!

Hi Carol, so good to hear you got through the cath. The pain I had in my wrist cath was nasty ! I can't imagine in the groin! Then they had trouble getting in to boot. Yikes! Sorry to hear about barb's situation. I hope you and Barb are now resting lots. Tammy

I was wondering why I couldn't seem to get ahold of Barb. I just knew to check the Lupus forum. You guys always keep a close eye on her. Thank you for that. I will now wait til she comes back home.
