Shoulder pain

I was just wondering how long it takes you to get some releif from a shot of steroids. The rheumy gave me a shot on wenesday for my shoulder and I can't tell any difference. I had one in my back about a year ago and by the time I went to bed that night it was already helping.

He had me go get an xray at the hospital but they never got back to me. I'm wondering if it's a bone spur. I wouldn't think a bone spur would improve with a steroid shot. What do you think? I tried to get some answers from the dr today but they closed early on friday. Have you ever had a steroid shot that din't help?

Like mypearl, I would have thought you would already have some relief. Call your doctor on Monday if it still hurts.

Hi Pearl, Pat and Barb, Thanks for the response. I felt it probably should have been better by now as well. I need to get with the dr. monday anyway since he had me get it xrayed. I just never had one that steroids didn't fix the problem before. I have taken about 6- 5 mg pain killers today and they did nothing. I just wish they would put me back on steroids again. Steroids seem to work much better than pain meds. I tried IBprofin but no go there either. Thank you all again and thank you Barb for the offer to cal ya. I sure hope this treatment they gave you helps this time. It's not like we don't get tired enough and then have meds make us more tired.

Carol, my husband has a horrible time with his shoulders and we have no clue why wish I could offer more than a hope your doctor gave you answers.
