Firebabe,
I'm glad you are doing well enough to think about having a baby! You are on the right track in consulting a high-risk specialist. You asked the question about anyone's dr. ever informing them that a serious nephritis flare could be triggered by pregnancy and post-partum. My daughter has class IV nephritis. She only flared and was diagnosed after her baby was born. She was fine throughout the actual pregnancy. She had to undergo chemo, prednisone, blood transfusions and was very ill. Fortunately the chemo put her into remission. One dr. advised her not to risk another pregnancy since that triggered her lupus nephritis. He told her that her daughter needed a mother. Other dr's. told her to go ahead and get pregnant. I don't know how severe your kidney involvement is or if it would progress. Ultimately, I guess the patient has to assess the risks. My daughter opted to be mother to the daughter she already has. I don't know if you already have children, but whatever you decide, I will remember you in my prayers.
