Redrose,
I'm glad you are fighting. I'm from Ohio and dislike Michigan, there is an attitude there to be sure amongst some Michiganders. In GA where I live it is rural and extremely poor and this kind of thing happens sometimes, usually its really really bad, but I know someone who had their baby taken away because the mother had an open cereal box in the bedroom, she liked to munch on cereal. They were poor too. They like to take babies, they are easy to place permanently. They won't take teenagers no matter what is happening to them.
You have to fight tooth and nail and try to get media or someone else involved on your behalf. You might call the Americans with Disabilities and find out whetheryou are being discriminated against. After all, medicare doesn't supply you with any type of household help when you are sick. I supposed social servces doesnt' care much about that. I will pray for you. Somehow, I thought you were out of the woods on this. Don't they realize what you went through to have this child? I hope you win your appeal. Maybe going to the press, youtube, something, would help, ask your lawyer first, I don't know. Also, all the agencies like ADA and civil liberties and such and maybe write to some lawyers or professors or other people outspoken on this issue. Email me if you want.
I knew plenty of social workers that were messy, abusive, and drug addicts and bad alcoholics. Unfortunately, the best defense for them is agood offense.
