heated blanket or heated mattress pad?

I know many of us here suffer from the cold achies. I am looking at either a heated mattress pad or a heated blanket. I wondered if anyone here could recommend one over the other. Wish I had it tonight. It's cold and dreary, and I hurt!

dunno about you, but i am a bit of a "princess & the pea" type sleeper - can't stand even so much as a wrinkle in my sheets. i can feel the wires in the heated mattress pad through the sheets :( i LOVE the warmth, but prefer the heated blanket because you aren't laying on the wires . . . i use rice pillows (small pillows made of dried rice that can be heated in the microwave - stay warm for about 45 mins) on my feet cuz they are always like ice bergs (drives hubby nuts!) and kick them out of the bed once my feet have gotten warm - they work well also for pre-warming the bed - heat them up, lay them in between the sheets about 25 mins before bed . . . . lovely warm, no wires, no controls to worry about :) i have directions on how to make them if you would like :)

I would suggest that you use or get a heated blanket! I would rather have somethin warm covering me up than laying on something that was warm.

I'm one who thinks - buy a good one (albeit expensive) and have it last a long time without the trouble of replacing it all the time.

My best friend thinks - buy a cheaper one and then you can always have a new one every year.

If you're like me and use it year-round (I like it best when I turn AC to 68, even if it's 80 outside, and turn the blanket on just a little), you might want to have an extra handy as they are sometimes hard to find in the summer!
