lupus and tatoos

hey everyone, i have a question about lupus. withh the disease im wondering if it is safe to get a tatoo. or if any of you have them, did they cause any reactions? please respong thanks!:)

We've talked about this in the past, I think the general consensus was to check with your doctor first. The websites, etc. only give general guidelines, while your doctor will know details of your personal status and be able to make a more personalized evaluation.

Absolutely agree about discussing with doctor before doing anything. from tat's to piecings or dental work. usually they like to see you either take more meds before hand or less meds before hand. "but I still want the wolf!" LOL. I'm native american and have wolves all over my house.

thanks everyone:) my family takes tatoos as meaning not just markings on the body, each one means something to us. We all are getting a tatoo representing lupus, the new saying is i am a victor, not a victim. ive always wanted the lupus butterfly and i really want to get it. it means something to me and my family. Ive just wanted some opions if the doctor told you, you could have one. did you ever react to the ink, because i do have a from of the skin lupus? thankss
