I have some FABULOUS sweats and chills, and apparently, lupus is the only cause. At work, I'm usually melting, so I ask others if they're warm... usually they're cold because I have the door open. But at night, I can't seem to get warm at all. Every inch of my body is cold. Once I finally fall asleep, I find myself waking up in a puddle of sweat.
Sorry this isn't any help, but I've found no solution. I have an electric blanket to warm me up at night (which I switch off before falling asleep.) When I'm hot though, there is no solution without causing my friends to freeze. Oddly enough, when I take my temperature at either time, it's right on my normal (96.2).
No solutions, just wanted to tell you I'm in the same boat! Let me know if you find something that helps!
