Tips for sun-sensitivity

As I was driving today and the sun was beating down, on my arm, face, neck and hands I got to thinking..what am I going to do this summer with the sun and it's affects on me?  I faithfully (well pretty much faithfully ;)  put sunscreen on all my exposed skin.  I was just wondering has anyone got any good tips for while driving in the car?  Are there good driver-side window screens anywhere?  or something better so that I don't have to put on a long sleeved shirt and/or sunscreen just to hop in the car to go for a drive.  Any tips would be great.  Thanks.

You can get protective arm sleeves from sun protective clothing companies such as Coolibar. Here is a link to one:

I have had melanoma, and I find that I often prefer sun protective clothing to sunscreen, since it limits the amount of chemicals I am putting on my skin.

You'd have to keep your windows up but I find that the window tinting I put on helps tremendously. I got the darkest the law allows. I miss driving with the windows and moonroof open but I don't have much of a choice anymore. When I'm on the motorcycle, it's got to be sunscreen. I carry it in my toolbag. LOL. Right along side my screwdrivers, wrenches and yup theres my sunscreen.

So, my question then is, does the window tinting help protect from the UV Rays? I mean it's more than just the sun glare, but actually does help with our condition?

You can get tinting that has some UV protection, and yes, I believe mine helps a lot to protect me from the sun. A trip in someone else's car produces much more fatigue/exhaustion for me than a trip in my tinted car.

Thank-you so much for your tips. I am going to have to look into having a UV protective window covering of some sort. I think that would probably be a great help to me in the future. I get so tired of putting sunscreen on just to go for a trip in the car.
