My wife has been having kidney trouble for over 2 months. The IVIG, cellcept, etc are not keeping the disease at bay.
During the same time her blood pressure has shot up finally this week reaching more dangerous levels of 142 diastolic.
I know the bp can be a result of nephritis.
But today for the first time she had bladder incontinence. Does anyone know if this is also the lupus?
Thanks

Yes, I have had crazy bp like that when my kidneys have been at its worst. I am not familuar with bladder incontinence. Hopefully someone will come along that has had some experience. Has she let her doctor know who dangerous her BP is spiking???

i have kidney problems as well.. she needs to call her doctor about
her blood pressure...there are meds to bring it down...my kidney doctor had me go to a pharmacy and buy urine dipsticks that specifically tested for protein to monitor my protein levels at home... there are a few different kind but this particular one only tests for 4 things..leukocytes, nitrates protein and glucose...it helps me monitor my proetin at home and when it rises i call and let her know... blood pressure left untreated can cause great harm to your wife..when its that high its ER time there are quick fixes to the blood pressure there...i hope she feels better soon...
bladder incontinence i had major issues when my kidneys were flaring..

hello, kidney problems are very commonly seen in lupus patients. I have had them for 2 years now. i would talk to your doctor about
enapiril. its a blood pressure medicine that also helps with the kidneys, i was currently put on it, and it seems to be making a difference with my kidney functions.

If your wife is not seeing a nephrologist she should as soon as possible.
