pushed too far today

I pushed myself too far today at the amusement park. I was shaking so bad by the time we left I could barely walk. My pain patch came off because I overheated and sweat too much so I was feeling everything. I am still in pain because I decided not to put on another patch until our visit tomorrow is over. I want to have a drink to celebrate my anniversary and spend some time in the hot tub here at the hotel. Anyone have any suggestions for dealing with the after affects of pushing too hard other than just rest? I know that one but am hoping there is a method that will help me cope with tomorrow.

Redrose, I know how it is when you are having a good time and you would pay just about anything to feel normal just for a little while. I'm so sorry you can't do it without paying the price. When I have done that the doctor puts me on xtra steroids. the problem is probably inflamation. Keeping in mine i'm no doctor. you might try to reach you doctor since the steroids usually start to work within a few  hours. Hopefully you willll be able to salvage a little bit of your anniversary.

I am feeling better already. Looking forward to a movie with hubby tomorrow night. So many new releases that have so many great plots and so little money and time.

my question is also about "pushing too far" so i decided not to start a new topic...

i pushed too far, too. went home to visit some friends and stayed up too late, had a few drinks, etc. and my body has been reacting not so favorably. the most concerning is that my entire body is sore like i worked out for a long time (even my face). my stomach is the most tender... sore to the touch and to lay on it. i've just been sleeping since getting back yesterday, drinking lots of water, taking my meds like normal...

my question is, do i just have to wait this out every time i push myself too hard? just assume that some crazy things will happen to my body every time i overdo it even a little? sometimes i convince myself that it won't be that bad, and then it usually isn't even close to being worth it. frustrating though... i miss being able to be spontaneous and have fun with friends when i can.

Redrose said it! As Carol said early, you can always talk to your doctor about having some extra prednisone laying around when this happens. KimberlyRenee, you have said the thing I struggle most with...
