Ferumoxytol (IV Iron)

Anyone had this yet? Just curious what any experiences might be! I asked this about 6 months ago and didnt get any answers and thought now maybe someone has tried it. but I couldnt afford it last time and now its to the point I don't think I have that option. So once my insurance approves it I will get my first session with it and a bit nervous!

Amy, the only side effects that were reported and witnessed was the BP dropped really low. We had one patient that we had to send to the ER because she had an allergic reaction to the medication( nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse,sweating). But overall all most patients did really well.

Hope everything goes well for you. I am the same way about starting something new. I want to everything there is to know about it. How low was your counts?

If I'm not mistaken it is 15-55 but each facility has different readings. Some read 20-55.
