Prayers and good thoughts for Barb please!

I'm very worried about our Barb. She is in the emergency room right now. She's had several ports put in her chest in the past couple years with no real success. They decided last week to put one in her arm on the inside of the arm where it bends but not in the bend it self. Well her are has continued to swell and be cold and numb. Now it's swollen all the way from her elbow to her finger tips. she can't even make a fist or feel her hand. They ran some test or MRI I don't remember exactly what but they found out she has a blood clot! shakehead . She doesn't know what they will do but I am pretty sure that with a blood clot they would NOT!!!!!! just give her some baby asperin and send her home. Anyway as I'm sure you know these blood clots can be very serious so again I ask for your  prayers and best wishes. I'll keep you in formed she is supposed to let me know as soon as she knows what it is happening.

update it was an ultra sound they gave her and yes they did admit her to the hospital. She should be in her own room with in the next 2 hours. but you know how the ER goes and at a military hospital at that.

Barb is feeling very weak and is experiencing alot of pain in her arm. The blood clot runs from her armpit to her elbow and they are giving her Lovanox (sp) blood thinner shots in her belly. Her white blood count is elevated and they think she has an infection (possibly in the bladder) and is also on IV antibiotics. Will discuss with the doctors in the am about getting a blood transfusion.

Barb is grateful to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the updates on Barb, I tried calling her at home today and didn't get an answer. I thought something must be wrong because when we talked last she wasn't do well. Barb you know your always in my prayers.love you sis i'll be in touch

Just so you know Barb is home.! She is still very swollen and hurting but they have her on blood thinners to get rid of the clot. Praying she heals fast and can get a round of blood transfusion she is in need of. devil Hollloween! Just kidding but she does need a transfusion. I have had them I hated it! gross I don't know how dracula did it!

YAY!! Thank you for letting us know how she is doing. I hope her swelling goes down and the pain gets better!!! Love you Carol and Barb!

Sorry, haven't been on in a couple of days. I hope Barb is much better. I will def keep her in my prayers. God Bless you all.

Hi All:

Yep I'm home from the hospital. My arm is looking much better. I've had a lot of water retention in 8 days I dropped 18 pounds. However, I need to stop the water pill as my potassium is at a dangerously low level. My Doctor just called me from her home and it's 7:45 pm here. She was suppose to see me on Monday bad had to change the date. So until I have more labs done no water pills.

As for my blood clot I'm giving myself 2 shots of lovenox twice daily. Good thing I'm not queasy at doing that, hubby would run yelling from the room if he had to do it. Overall, I'm still feeling sick I know I need a blood transfusion but the docs are holding out on me. Maybe when I see Dr. Byars on Wednesday she'll agree that's what I need and order it for me.

Thanks for all your prayers and blessing and great energy. Hope you all are doing ok and not having to many pain filled days. Take care and know I appreciate each and everyone of you.

I feel bad for having disappeared for so long. Barb, so sorry your battle with all of this continues, but am glad to hear that you're back home. Carol, you're always so good to keep everyone informed about Barb. I hope you're doing ok.
