Feel the fog

hope you're feeling better... i had a bad day, too. i don't know if it's the same as you're describing but it is similar. i can't remember things from one minute to the next. it happened over and over today and just made me feel depressed, ( and angry). Maybe tomorrow will be better, right?

I don't have a rheumatologist... but I'm curious what kinds of medication could help. I'm seeing a hematologist in December at my docs request but i always find it's a waste of time for me. ( plus its a two hour drive to see him). I see my doctor on the 30th and I think she will give me a referral for a rheumatologist because she just really wants me to feel better. She's actually just a nurse practitioner but she has been one of the first to really listen.

Hi hope you feel better today   I feel a little better, I just go threw the fog at times but the memory sucking well thats been going on for i don't know how long. I am going to the Neuro. in Jan. for a nerve test theres other issues I am dealing with but I will let my Dr. know for sure.

 You really need to see a Neuro. for the Lupus if you can.

Went to my HIDA scan on my gallbladder, they can't tell you thr results there but he told me what to look for and stopped the test early,because there was no change and I got my awnser, I have to go threw the paces but will have to have it out its broke for sure it doesn't hardly work, It isn't all in my head!! and I won't miss the pain those attachs give me at all. !!!!!!

Hi J.P., I went threw the same with my family befor I was ever told I had Lupus, I had not been to the dr. yet. I didn't have ins. I felt like my family members were thinking I was nuts, they never said it but but I think they thaught it, heck I was thinking it to.
I would have pain that was so bad I wasn't able to function and it was in randem places like the left sholder right leg and little finger, that is how strange it was, that is how it started then got worse. i was able to save some money and went to the Dr. who sent me to the ruma. and I made them go with me so they new I was sick and not in the head!!!! That was the best thing I ever did I think because it made them understand what I was going threwand I didn't have to tell them all what the Dr. said.

I hope that you are able to go to a ruematologist(spelling sorry). I have ins now but that ends soon and will have to something ealse but if you have ins. you should be able to go to one for alot cheaper then without, it cost me 500.00 for the first viset and 250.00 after that each time until i got ins. just to let you know its costly.

Sorry I will not bable on anymore my meds are kicking in and I get a bit silly for a fue hrs. each dose.

if only I knew, I think my husband thinks it's all in my head, too. I've been hearing you should take him to the doctor with you, it's worth a shot. It didn't work for me cause at the hospital where i was seeing a hematologist there was an emergency and I guess someone came in with some very serious luekemia and so even though my blood results were still abnormal i was feeling quite well at the time. So then the doc sent me home with a "clean bill of health" and a follow up appointment.... I think my husband took him literally. We drove two hours to that appointment just to see the doctor for about 5 minutes.

I'm glad this post was brought up... I don't really know if I should mention it to my doctor which I will be seeing tomorrow. My short term memory is horrible. I don't know how many times I've done one lil thing like put down a paper, my brush, a shirt, etc. and then next minute have noooo clue what i did with it, don't remember a thing. It is really frustrating, delays my getting ready; as if that isn't a mission already it makes me angry and want to cry. I am even scared to tell people seriously because they might think i'm going nuts so I say it jokingly. Surprisingly my long term memory has always been great; I guess that's a plus. Any opinions?

YES! Mention *everything* to your doctor. Any and all symptoms, even things you aren't sure if they are symptoms or not, add *information* to what your doctor knows about your body. Even your mood can help!

Sometimes I don't know I'm feeling bad physically until I realize I've felt drained for several days - that makes me stop and listen to my body and determine if there is a certain place in my body that is tired, stressed, overworked, hot, swollen, inflamed, chilly, or in any way uncomfortable!

I have been going through tests for the last eight months. I have always had loads of allergies, but I suddenly felt really ill. I have Chronic Asthma, Pernicious anaemia, Diabetes, and will find out on Thursday whether I have Sjogren's Syndrome.
I wish people could use something that would show you were in a lot of pain, like a Blood Pressure Monitor. Does that make sense?
It really gets me down when people think you look alright but are in agony, even members of my family.
My conditions are mostly inherited.
I was born with a lack of Intrinsic Factor in my gut, so therefore had a vitamin B12 deficiency, which turned intpo Pernicious Anaemia, after years of a lack of injections.
The Brain Fog is very distressing. Friends and family think you are stupid. I have done some research and found that one could take Vitamin B12 sub lingually, and it certainly helped me with my brain fog. If anyone wants to look on the PAS website, there is a lot of information there and on other Auto Immune conditions.
The trouble with Lupus and similar diseases is that you never know when it is going to flare up, and what causes it?
I empathise with all of you who are going through all of this like me.
Let's hope one day they find a cure, and that the medical profession takes us more seriously.
I'm not holding my breath!

I will infact mention my brain fog to my docs......I thought (and my husband thought too) that I was just getting more and more flakey....it is frusterating and I am glad that it is not in my head!

When I saw my Rheumatologist last Tuesday, he took many blood tests and examined me physically. He is very sure I have Sjorgen's Syndrome, and he recommended this site to me:

I haven't joined officially as a member yet, but there was quite a lot of information on the diagnosis, and, what can help.
