I am getting a slew of blood work done. I dont think there is anything the neuro isnt asking for. what I want to know is if a "flare" could make a difference in the numbers he is looking for??

I guess what I'm asking is if my not currently being in a flare will cause the numbers to not show up and delay the diagnosis?? will I have to wait for another flare and more blood work to get an accurate diagnosis?

I am on the way out of a really bad, really long possible lupus/fibro flare. If I get the blood work done now will it possibly come out negative since the flare is almost over??

will blood work read differently if you are in/out of a flare??

In my experience my blood work doesn't always indicate a flare. It's just one of those weird things, of course mine is never ALL normal. I could be feeling ok and my blood work could be terrible then when I feel at my worst my labs would be a little off.

     I was wondering that same thing. I have had 3 sets of bloodwork done in a 2 month period and even though my labs are all abnormal I was thinking that they woud change a bit if in a flair or whatnot.  I was recently dx with UCTD and Sjogren's the rhuemy said "lupus and Sjogren's"  my second opinion Rheumy said Lupus and possibly RA overlap but def no Sjogren's (not to say that can't develop later). So was the Dx just based on labs??? who knows I guess. I just started plaq. so we will see what happens. If you find out anything let me know I am curious :-)
