diagnosed with sle lupus.

Hopefully she is under the care of a good rheumatologist. SLE must be monitored and managed to help keep it from progressing
although just about everyone has flares at times. She needs to see the rheumatologist and have bloodwork (labs) done regularly.
If symptoms aren't too severe, her Dr. may have her on plaquenil only. More severe symptoms may require an immunosuppressant
such as imuran, methotrexate, etc... and perhaps prednisone. Everyone is different in how it manifests. Many live with SLE for
years and years and manage it just fine.
