I've been on Plaquenil for 2 yrs, and it took awhile for the full effect to kick in, so try to be patient. I didn't think it was helping all that much until I reduced the dose to once daily after being on it for a year and went into a nasty flare. I was more than happy to resume the full dose.
I had a fibro diagnosis for nearly 10 yrs before the other crud kicked in - and the weather was always an aggravating factor for it. Fluctuating barometric pressures and temperatures, high humidity, and high winds all seem to trigger pain and fatigue. I do think the lupus/RA symptoms add to the chorus and I tend to feel worse with the bad weather than with just the fibro alone, it seems. Perhaps I'm just older now and not as resiliant. When the anti-inflammatories don't seem to touch the pain and malaise I usually suspect fibro as the source.
Hope you feel better soon.
