Malar rash?

Hi guys,

Im just back from holidays in France, the first few days were really sunny about 30-35 degrees. On the third day, i developed a hot red burning rash on my face mainly over both of cheeks, very like sunburn. I also got a rash on my hands, arms and legs, small little bumps under the skin looked like heat rash.

At first I thought I has an allergic reaction to the sun cream but my husband and sons used it too and they were fine. My face swelled up on the 4th day, over my eyes aswell. I stayed out of the sun, couldnt wear make up or put on moisturiser as they would irritate it and make it worse. My face went really dry and still is. I got a hypoallergenic sterile water spray from the pharmacy there and just used that to cool down.

Before we left to go, I had the usual aches and pains and fatigue.

Does this sound like a malar rash?? Going to see a rheumy soon and will mention it to him but just wondering.....

Ok thanks joy...hopefully it wasnt. Maybe it was the suncream after all. Very strange though, never happened me before. When i say swelling, it was very slight swelling, my eyes were a bit puffy, but it was mainly the hot stinging and burning feeling and extremely dry on cheeks and arms legs and hands were not sore just had a rash under the skin and anytime i went out in the sun or put moisturising cream on, it would flare up really bad again. Im home in Ireland again now and the rash is still visible and face still very tight but has gone down alot.

That can explain all my allergies to many antibiotics.
