I got my test results back today. I will be seeing my Dr. next week. All signs point to lupus or MCTD. I have felt lousy for ten years. Bad fatigue that is unrelieved by rest and aches/pains, as well as just feeling crummy in general. I also have Raynaud's that affects my toes as well as a sleep study that has documented sleep disturbances.

The ANA titer was 1:40, so not bad I believe.
The pattern was speckled.
It says ANA: POS

MY SED rate and my C Reactive Protein were high, as always, so that shows inflammation. There were some other markers that were high as well: Basophils and Eosinophils. I looked tem up and it looks like they have to do with immune issues/inflammation.

Can anyone help me interpret? I can't see this as anything but Lupus or MCTD. I don't have the hallmark symptoms of Scleroderma or Sjorgens. My Rhematoid Factor was normal.

With these results and a decade worth of symptoms.....

It sure does sound like one of them.
My titers were 1:360 postive: speckled
My SED and other inflamatory markers where normal.
However, my rhuemy said he believed I have moderate SLE because I had so many other symptoms that matched it.
I had constant pain in one or more joint, swelling legs, photosensitivity, rash, and just felt so tired I couldn't move my arms. I also had Raynauds.

**I forgot to add t hat my BUN/Creatinine ratio was slightly elevated which has me really scared and worrying about kidney function... :(

What was your creatinine number? What about your BUN? Also, what was your WBC? Have you eatin any excessive amounts of protein before you blood work? Also, were you well hydrated? These 2 factors have a can cause your BUN/Creatinine levels to rise. When was the last time you had bloodwork drawn before this last set of labs? How was your creatinine then??

Hi!

Your pattern of illness sounds much like mine and many, many of us here. Don't panic about your BUN/Creat. ratio yet yeah   there are lots of reasons for it, so I bet your dr. will repeat it. And, they will monitor your kidney function closely and treat it carefully. As my dr. told me, drug therapy has a goal to prevent or minimize kidney damage down the road. I have only had one little and one big episode of tea colored foamy urine that scared me mightily, and I panicked, too.
