I have Lupus\recently having daily recurring nose bleeds. Any help or comments?

I have Lupus and now Iam having daily recurring nose bleeds with blood clots. I was wondering if anyone experienced this or could give me any advice why its happening. I dont know if it has anything to do with having Lupus?

Do you take a nasal spray?
I've had that problem but it was due to my nasal spray.

No ive never experienced having nose bleeds. I dont use spray. I have lupus but not sure if that has anything to do with the recent nose bleeds.

You may be having issues with dry nose -- there is "Sjogren's Syndrome" that often accompanies Lupus -- it has to do with dry membranes -- dry eyes, dry mouth, ears, nose, etc.

I would try an OTC nasal spray - one that is just for moisture, nothing with medication. Also make sure to talk with your Dr about it at your next appointment.

Have you had your Blood Counts checked recently? The nose and ear bleads have me concerned. Please bring this up with your doctor. In the past have your platlelts been low? What you mention is a sign of low platlelets and it would be better to get some blood work ran instead of guessing what it might be. Can you make an apt for tomorrow? Also, how frequently is this happening and how much blood would you say comes out during a nose bleed or a ear bleed?

Also, have you started a new medication since this has started? Any of your medications have any side effects of messing with blood counts?

i havent started any new meds. it been awhile since last blood work.

i started having nose bleeds about six weeks ago lasting for two days 4 to 5 times a day; happening every two weeks.

the first few episodes it only bled a little.

on the 8th and 9th it bled really bad both days i could see clots and my ear was now also bleeding only a little compared to the nose bleeds

i have a dr appointment on the 20th
