Today I was walking around my classroom feeling okay, suddenly I was hit with a dizzy spell. I had to stop and just stand still for a couple of minutes. I felt like I was going to black out. When things slowed down I went and sat down in my chair. My students were very concern about
me, as was I.
I told them if something happened to me they were to use the intercom to call the office and to get a teacher in the next classroom. I managed to get through the next hour without blacking out or falling down (I stayed in my chair mostly).
The para-pro in the next room took my children to PE for me so I could rest.
I spent the rest of the day resting in my chair and teaching the children. I didn't feel dizzy anymore but felt weak and tired. My co-worker who has lupus too, says she gets dizzy spells too.
Is this normal for everyone else? What do you do to combat this? I hate feeling like the way I felt today.
