Sometimes when i get abit of pain in Lupus mostly on my knees it goes bumpy and lumpy and has a tendency to stick out is this normal in lupus does anyone get this, its not just on knees it can be on the side of my arm next to my elbow will go bumpy when in pain sometimes.

Hi Miss Lupus.I am not diagnosed yet,but have most lupus symptoms,so I am by no means an expert..but I do know this much..alot of the autoimmune illnesses/connective tissue illnesses seem to connect to one another in a sense..Have you been checked out for Fibromylagia also?I have been diagnosed with that,and I also get bumpy/lumpy knees on the side,or the inside of the elbow will swell huge,,,this hurts like heck.My elbows stay swollen almost continuosly,,especially the left one,and Im right handed,,you think that one would be worse!!My lower back are will swell also..this can be or start anywhere..talk to your doctor about fibro...

Hello it doesnt swell all the time on my elbow it just did that when i got diagnosed my knees swell abit in pain but after that will go away i dont think i could have fibro i dont get a swollen back it hurts but doesnt swell my rhuemy does no i get swollen knees and just thinks its the lupus i just wanted abit more info thanks by the way

Ok,,thats good your rheumy knows..Hopefully it will get better for you...These illnesses cause so many symptoms,and since everyone is made up genetically different,evryones symptoms are alittle different too.It must be your tissue swelling up from the inflammation...

Yeah thats what i thought not to mention i have rhuematoid arthritis along with lupus and i was told my body does swell quite alot sometimes it swells without no pain lol
