Week after foot surgery update

  Just wanted to let everyone that chatted with me know that the surgery went well. Dr. told me that he was sure that he's fixed everything and shouldn't have to operate a second time like he had believed he would all along.

  I was in hell when I came out of it for the first couple hours. I done pretty good first few days considering but now the muscle spasms have made up for the lost time. I wonder if the meds had anything to do with keeping them at bay for a few days? I had a nerve block behind my knee which stayed for 2days!!!

  Of course Dr. had to give me bad news that instead of being in cast " absolute no pressure" for 2mth he told me its now 2-1/2mth!!! I'm not mentally prepared for this at all.

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Like Lynnwood said the time will go by before you know it. I hope he can get you something for the muscle spasms. I get them in my back and I know they hurt like the dickens.

Thanks for the replies! Barbara sorry you have spasms too! I have Zanaflex and Flexeril for the spasms which do help but rather not be on anything. I probably shouldn't wait till they get bad before I take them. Joy, I have gotten myself a used Medline knee walker to help scoot myself around the house but it's too wide to get into the bathroom so I still use crutches. I know everyone always say that it will be over before you know it and I say that too. Its just something tough to deal with. Everyone on HW knows how pain is like a time machine "it slows time down!"
I have the same thing to go thru with my other foot. ;-) I don't know when/if I will have the strength for it?
