Can you experience bone pain with neurapathy or CTD?

  I ad  major foot surgery Mar 14 and just Monday started to walk out of te ast. Sorry not all keys are working for me..Lol. Anyway I wen to my PCP and e knows I ae neuropaty and said tat I was luky tat I didn't feel as mu pain. I told im tat I ouldnt feel my skin but I definitely feel my bones urting!!! Any input would be appreciated! Tanks!

Hi Worthit. Lupies have an increased incidence of osteoporosis due to all the steroids we take and that causes bone pain in the spine. Lots of other bones can be effected by lupus joint involvement with ankle and foot pain common. The supporting ligaments of the toes can loosen producing bunions, calluses, and pain. I ope ur up on ur eet soon :) Love, Butterflake

Thanks for the reply Butterflake! This is an issue that I'm eager to discuss with my Neurologist Mon. my last neuro told me that I had nerve damage but couldn't tell me he reason why "idiopathic" I will put this on my list to ask if I may be experiencing the pain under my skin where my injuries are. The other day I soaked my feet in Epsom salts and almost burned my skin without realizing it. Keyboards better now ;-)

Neuropathy can feel like bone pain. For me I sometimes get neuropathy in my feet, specifically near my toes. It feels like someone is pouring a boiling caustic liquid (think battery acid) directly into the joints. I find B12 supplements sometimes helps.

  Hi Lynwood! Always nice hearing from you... I like your description you nailed it good!

  I had visited a new Neurologist yesterday 6-10-13 and I asked him this exact question. "Yes" was his answer...... I also asked if it is common for a person to have the numbness of the skin but also have the severe pain in the bones, muscles and joints associated with neurapathy? Again "yes"..... 

  The reason I asked is because I also have had a rheumatologist to tell me that I have CTD or MCTD. His visit will be Thur. My muscles ache in I guess what are called flare ups?
