Tingly Scalp?

I wonder if the nerves are irritated?
I get random itching on my scalp but nothing is there.

Hi Melody, (Beautiful name!)

I have "Lupus" and SKIN LUPUS. Apparently, one can have only skin lupus which is reported milder than actually Lupus.

I have had Rash on my arms and scalp. Arms have cleared up after about two years. My scalp can be sooooo itchy! have had this at least 15 years. Keep a chop stick handy for scratching! LOL!

Scalp seems to flare if I am nervous or hot! Then it is increased itch! Seriously, I have a chop stick.

Stay out of the sun, keep scalp clean and dry.

This past summer I even felt a "crawling sensation".... Parasite check found nothing. But it REALLY felt crawling it was so disgusting.

Have a skin bi-op.

Mine is more of an itch at times, and then just tingles at other times. Gabby, my tingly scalp sensations can also feel like crawling parasites!!!!! Ick!!! But nothing was ever found in my head, of course, lol. Still get the weird crawling sensations every so often though. Really does feel like bugs! Think it's nerve issues though. I get "bug" sensations on my legs too, especially at night when I'm resting in bed, which seems like RLS (common in Fibromyalgia).

The pins and needles feelings along with the tingling scalp also sounds like nerve involvement. I don't think I have gotten any finger symptoms along with the tingling scalp though (haven't had tingling scalp lately though-- so I can't recall). I only tend to get pins and needles in my legs, feet, toes and on my face right underneath my eyes (I get some one-sided facial numbness).

Everyone is different though, of course. I am not DX with lupus right now, but i do seem to certainly have nerve issues. Either way, I relate to all of this.

I consider myself extremely brave, however I've been brought to my knees with all of your symptoms and much worse. Self diagnosed with Morgellons. Nothing else make sense and I'm not imagining anything other than a life free of symptoms. I remember what that was like. My tingling (not unpleasant) scalp is my indicator of how healthy/compromised my immune system is at the time. Its uncanny how connected the two are. The hydrogen Peroxide rinse after a shower seems to halt the tingle until I have sugar in my system... Weird I know...

You never know what lupus will play with in your body. It's all fair game for it.

I used to get a tingly scalp, and sometimes when I brushed my hair, it would feel as if my scalp were on fire. It was awful. I would sometimes break out in hives, too on my scalp from the irritation from the brushing.

I've found a shampoo line called SURFACE that has reduced this reaction drastically. I can tell it's the shampoo, because even when I cheat with certain foods, my scalp still doesn't break out.
