this is odd...

Two of my daughters have that, it runs in cycles, callus, then peeling - not all of their fingers. Tea tree oil and gloves help one, but not the other daughter - their fingers and feet also turn blue or grey but not always while their fingers are peeling - we've heard it's reynards causing it - My fingers simply pucker, as if I've been in water, when I haven't.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your fingers. You mentioned that on two of your fingers it's on the sides of the fingers. The the scaly skin anywhere near your cuticles? The reason I ask is when I developed my first wart on my left thumb I thought it was a callus.

It stayed that way for years and I'd get a manicure and the lady would clip away at it. Well, you know what I've been thru with my fingers. It ended up being a wart there and just spread over the years. Since you said it's hard and feels weird, I don't think it would hurt to make an appointment and make sure that it's just a callus.

Your PCM will be able to tell you if it's a wart or not. If it is a wart they can freeze it right there in the office and hopefully, it will fall off in a few days. Please remember, I have NO IMMUNE SYSTEM that's why my warts ended up the way they did, so don't panic okay.

Let us know if you find out what they are and if they go away on their own, or if you needed the Dr to remove them. Good luck and try not to worry to much about them okay.

Hi Couchtater, I have this same thing and it's been called everything from eczema to psoriasis to allergic dermatitis. Do you get any blistering? Is it itchy? What color is the skin that flakes off? Is it silver, yellow?

I have prescription steroid cream that I use when it gets bad. It does thin the skin though with prolonged use.

You may need a referral to a dermatologist.

Be careful to keep any cracking areas clean. I have had a few infections. Not fun!

You could see if it helps just remember to not use it longer than a few days to a week. I've been having to use it so long that anything more than a few days will have my skin so thin that I accidentally cut it open by scratching it. I really hope that last sentence made sense lol!

I've been rubbing strong mosturizers in it for several weeks. It just doesn't seem to be getting better.

Good thing I'm seeing the rhuemy soon.
