I've been sick for about ten years or more. In 2003, they told me I had MS and then said I did not. As the years went by, I got more and more sick with no answers. I spent thousands on medical testing and doctors. Finally, two years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Content with the answer, I began researching how to best care for myself.
In Jan, due to an impending transfer I went back to my old gyno in Louisiana. Years ago, she told me she thought I had Lupus. I did not listen, and moved to another state. When I informed her that I had fibro and not Lupus, she told me to get a good rheumatologist, and gave me the name of one she trusted.
I went and after looking at my records, and listening to my symptoms ( reynauds, chest and rib pain, inability to shave or wear regular bra, joint pain, fatigue, cognitive issues, muscle spasms, stomach issues, issues with walking, mood disturbances and sleep disturbances, eye dryness and pain, heat intolerance, and rash on chest that I get when hot) he mentioned that I had a positive ANA years before.
As I sat there he told me I was getting tested for Lupus and my fibro was most def psoriatic arthritis but he would do an x-ray to confirm, I thought my flakes were dandruff. It's psoarisis. ( sorry for spelling, cog issues)
Now I feel as If i am either getting back on the roller coaster, or FINALLY getting the help I deserved all along.
So my question is this.. How long ( once you found a good doc) did it take to get diagnosed? I just do not think I can go through the years of waiting again.
Thanks!
