Help! We need a doctor!

I don't personally know of any rheumatologists in that area, however this is what I usually recommend to anyone looking for treatment.

Visit www.lupus.org. Find the information about the chapter that is closest to you, and contact that chapter. They will not recommend a specific Dr, but can give you a list of the local Drs that serve on their advisory board. Those are generally the Drs in the area that have the most interest in seeing Lupus patients, and the most experienced with Lupus.

You can also see if they have any local support groups, and visit those groups and ask around for recommendations. Or if you have large hospitals in the area, ask if they have any support groups for Lupus or other auto-immune diseases.

Yes, unfortnately a waiting time of two to three months to see a good specialists can be that long. Have her make the appointment and then ask to be placed on the cancellations listing, that way if someone cancels she might get seen sooner. With so many pateints and so very few good RA Doctors it can be frustrating for waiting, It took me Three months to see a RA specialist for the first time, so unfortnately that is the average wait time...
But again once she makes the appointment she can ask about being placed on the cancellations listing to get seen sooner if possible...
