what does it mean when you test negative for lupus but your rhuemy wants to retest in 6 months? my ch50 was over 60 and my crp was 5.6...Those were the only abnormal tests and neither points toward lupus from my understanding. Very confused.

It means your blood test doesn't indicate Lupus right now but possibly your symptoms are pointing in that direction, and the rheumy doesn't want to diagnose (or treat?) based on what he sees but wants to see if anything changes over the course of the next six months.

I did...he still says it's only fibromyalgia....I copied and pasted this straight from the email I sent him... I have been reading about both and I think I fit the criteria for both of them, which just leaves me confused because they are both so similar...:/

Lupus is rarely easy to diagnose and shares symptoms with other diseases. This is the nature of an autoimmune disease and diagnosis often takes time. If you are not satisfied with your rheumy get another opinion but find one who is experienced treating lupus and other AI diseases....not all are.

Thanks for your help, Bill...I do think I will get a second opinion... I am so happy for you that you have regained your health!!, It sounds like you are making the most of it! Are you in remission, or fully recovered? How did you do it?
