Does anyone take Lyrica?

Hi Everyone. Since my Nucynta, which I've been taking for two years, was not approved by my insurance, my Docs and I are waiting 3 months until I finish the Klonopin I just bought. Once I stop Klonopin my narcotic should be approved. Until then my pain management PA gave me Lyrica. It was prescribed for me years ago and didn't help, but now, at least for a while, it has decreased my pain very noticeably. Has anyone else tried Lyrica with good results? Do you still take it and what's your dosage? Love, Butterflake

I took it for about 6 weeks many years ago. We didn't think it was doing anything, so I stopped. So that's my (unhelpful) experience! Hope someone else can answer your questions more helpfully!

My husband takes Lyrica for fibro. He takes anywhere from 450 - 600 mgs a day depending on the day. It works good for relieving his pain but he seems to get very tired on it and it seems to strip his ability to care about anything. If the wall came crashing down in my house, he would only care if the TV crashed down with it, lol! He also thinks it is hurting his short term memory.

Hope you have a better experience.

Wow! That's interesting. I'm taking it until my pain specialist can get another med approved. Thank you for the info. So far Lyrica doesn't seem to make me any more tired than usual, but between all my meds, diagnoses, and catching every virus there is I'm tired most days. Very good pain relievers make me more energetic as long as I don't take too much and Lyrica makes me more energetic for an hour or so.

I'm sorry your husband is so sluggish. Not getting any help must be very difficult for you. I hope things get better soon. Love, Butterflake

You may find that lyrica has made you gain weight. It did with me. And made me sleepy. Don't need any he there. (SLE). I have heard of women gaining thirty pounds in a month. Be careful. Also had problems with worsening depression. When that happened I stopped using it. Good luck.

Hi Dustmite. Years ago my rheumy put me on Lyrica, but it didn't do much so I stopped and we went on to something else. I just decided to start a diet because lent is a good time for me plus I'm sure diabetes is just waiting for me to tip the scales just one tinsy pound. Thank you so much for the info!
