I see people posting questions about sores or lesions on their tongue. I do not have sores. However, the vertical lines in my tongue are wider than normal and my tongue is sore. There's no discolor, just soreness when I eat. Is this lupus related?

Welcome to our forum Dsilva. There is a type of thrush that causes vertical lines, redness, and some pain. I get it often, but I am usually able to ignore it. Sometimes docs will prescribe an oral suspension that contains a numbing agent if it gets too bad. Docs are more concerned if you get a white coat on your tongue which is the typical thrush caused by yeast and is very painful.

I've personally never had that. I get the textbook painless ulcers. But with Lupus I'm learning anything can happen! Haha

Lots of oral problems with lupus for some patients. Thrush is common with lupus as well as other AI diseases particularly if on any dose of prednisone. I had it for years but avoided the other oral problems somehow.
