rash that itches like crazy is the itching normal with lupus?

I have severe constant itching on my chest and only on my left arm, and i do get rash on my upper theighs but that seems to stay a day or two then disappears but the rash on my chest and arm has been there since i've been sick 6months now.

the rash on my chest use to be a rised lumpy purplish rash now its flat and dark looks almost  like a tan which is good but itches like you would not believe especially when the sun is exposed to my skin i use sun blockers seems like it doesn't do the job.

i've read the forum and found suggestions so i will try a few... see how it works for me. the information on this site is so informative and i thank god for all of you.

i'm now finding my scalp to be itching alot maybe it's just my nerves does anyone else experience this?

Thank you for replying no i haven't taken any prednisone the doctor's will not give it to me until my treatment starts so i've just been suffering it out. how did the benedryl work for you? what mg did you take rx or over the counter?
