Hair

Just a quick thought.  How many have had to cut their long locks of hair short cause they were just tooo darn tired to take care of it long and just couldn't hold up the blow dryer long enough to style it?  My 3 year old niece was just here visiting and she looks at me a couple times kinda funny and then notices and says "Aunt di got your hair cut?  I said yes and she says okay and then I asked if she liked it short and she says "yes like it lots" and then she said "but Aunt di it's lellow (her word for yellow) now".  How do you explain to a 3 year old the fact of hair coloring issues and gray and thinning.

Does anyone elses hair look a little "thicker" short?  I think mine does.  I may not even notice the thinning spots now I hope.

I got my long hair (that I'd had long since forever) cut Saturday to very short (washed it this morning and combed and done).  It is gonna take a lot of getting used to but did save my shoulders some pain with not having to blow dry this morning.

Hi Diane, count me in. I had about a foot cut off and layered. It was long forever. but it got so bad just trying to keep the tangles out of it. When I'm on my oxygen my hair gets tangled in the hose around my ears and causes tangles. For me the layer is actually making it look thicker.
As for the using your arms Oh Yah! I know that one. Infect I just posted that I dyed my hair today. I have been feeling good lately so I wanted to do it while I was up for it. It's just too hard to do it when my arms and shoulders and joints hurt. I'm glad that you found somthing that works for you. It makes a lot of difference if you feel good about yourself. and Hey if a 3 year old likes it than you know it looks good cuz little kids will tell you the truth.

Thankyou for bringing this subject up.   I just made an appointment to have my hair cut, styled and colored. It's too long and too hard to blow dry some days. I'm getting the layered cut and just to my shoulders. I don't look good in really short hair so it's going to have to get worse for me to cut it really short. My mom says to buy a stand up hair dryer that you sit under. They are about $50. I am seriously considering it. Right now I have brown/gray hair and I'm thinking about going light brown with blonde highlights. Or maybe go crazy and go all blonde.

Hi Diane, yes I too have gone shorter after having long hair forever.  Just about a month ago I had it cut and layered too.  I have had it long and one length for a very long time.  Surprisingly enough the layering took the poofiness out of the bottom and made the top look a little thicker.  I too have had hair loss and some is trying to grow back.  Whispies all over.

I finally found someone that can cut hair in a more up to date style and I can acutally fix it myself in half the time.  It was a good decision after my friend convinced me this girl could really cut hair.  It was definitely a success and much overdue change.

I wish I looked good with short hair but it just doesn't work with my face shape. I used to have a really cute style years ago that was short and then I gained weight. I am almost back to where I was but my face is not. I'm afraid to cut it. It did feel good though when it was short and so easy to style and quick.
