new medication

Hi all,

Im sorta new here but got a question my doc had me on elavil 4 mo 10mg got just way too sedated so we switched to cymbalta 20mg got a horrible allergic reaction so now he gave me samples (thank goodness) of Symbyax any one heard of it? Its fluoxetine/olazapine combo lowest dose its suppose to help both dep. and lupus autoimmne disorders . I sure hope it works anything could be better then elavil. Any of you tried this?yet: also he mentioned Lyrica which I have heard of for fibro/autoimmune stuffs. any input would be nice Tx Jonny

Hey Jonny, I haven't taking it personally, but my husband did a few years back. And it did help him alot, now he didn't have any side-effects from it, but they had to stop it because of his liver. But he never had any problems out of it. So, that's about all I can tell you about it. Good luck!!

I have only been on Cymbalta. But I am curious to know how the new medication will work for you. Please let us know how you make out and hopefully you will be reaction free -Kristin

Hi,' stillf eeling reactionsfrom the cymbalta but doc said it should be subsiding in a few more days living on benadryl, anyways doc gave me samples of symbyax never heard of it but its a combo drug of fluoxetine/olazapine (sp?) so i try it and see him next week too bad about the cymbalta tho it really raised my mood but hives and throat closing just dont cut it , glad to see your hubby was on symbyax so he did ok on it huh? tx jonny
