Hi all,

I wondered if any of you have tried Lyrica? My doc just got samples in and wants me to try it im on elavil (hate it) right now and was either thinking this or symbyax?

Let me know on either med side effects? tx Jonny (female)

HI Jonny,

I actually take Lyrica. I think it helps me a lot with pain. I have peripheral neuropathy and that is why I was given it. I know some people either love it or hate it, not much in between. When I first started taking it, I thought "there is no way I can take this" because it made me drowsy in the beginning but I stuck with it and it got better. I hope you get success from it.

Hi,'Thanks for responding, about how long have you been on it? And was drowsiness the only side effect you had? I knowe veryone is different but I see my doc this week and was thinking seriously of trying it , I have lupus and only on prednisone for now and the drowsiness could not be any worse then elavil!   Tx Jonny

I tried it as well... it didnt work for me. The side effects were very strong. My eyes tended to cross a lot the first few days, the drowsiness was pretty intense, and it caused weight gain almost immediately. It helped a little with the pain in my hips, but not enough to deal with the side effects. But, we are all different. I would say give it a try.
