Can anyone suggest a strong nausea medicine to ask my doc for?

My insurance won't pay for enough of this chemotherapy strength nausea medicine for me and I did the phenergren suppositories and pills and they made me really really nauseaus (how do you spell that word!), and anyway, I need to find another really really strong nausea med to try.  I think its my liver, which is why the phenergen is making me so sick, I have some compazine but that isn't working.  Pepto, no.  I need real strong stuff.  I went on the web and saw there is a bunch of stuff out there, but don't know what is what.  Some have some pretty weird psychiatric side effects, like halperidol. Any suggestions? 

I meant that thorazine is in the same class of drugs as haldol...

Benadryl and other antihistamines (such as Claritin) may be helpful for nausea. Also, if you are open to trying alternative things, Ginger Root tea may help. Be sure to ask your pharmacist if there are any interactions between antihistamines and your current medications, or between ginger and your current medications before trying anything.

Ginger Tea recipe:

1/2-1 inch fresh Ginger root, peeled
2 cups water

Place ginger root piece in pan with the 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then cover & simmer for 10 minutes. Cool to comfortable temperature and then sip on this tea until it is gone.

Another idea is the wrist band (sold in drug stores) for motion sickness. It can help people with other types of nausea as well.

And also there are homeopathic remedies for nausea that I have found helpful: Ipecac. and Nux V. seem helpful for me. Many health food stores sell homeopathic remedies.

The pharmacist suggested meclazine until I can get more zofran and it is really messing me up, I can't drive, I'm really light headed and falling asleep all over. I can't tell much whether its doing anything about the nausea because I'm asleep or messed up. It seems to help some, but this is ridiculous! I was breaking the tabs in half and taking it as little as possible, and I should be able to get more in two weeks or so, but I talked to the Gi guy and he said nothing is as good as that, everything else is going to be like the meclazine. He thinks I have celiac sprue or something so he's doing and endoscopy and biopsy. I swear, there isn't any place I havent been scoped and they;ve even created new holes of their own to scope through (laparosscopy) LOL. I don't need to be abducted by aliens--its happening here on earth! Thanks for the recipe for the ginger tea. I have to drive an half hour to get fresh ginger, but I do have mint tea I drink now and then, but hot anything doesn't sound good. I will talk to bf about trying to bring some ginger root home from work and maybe I can make the tea cold or luke warm. Water is working. Thanks so much for your kind help. It means a lot and sorry I"m just a little out of it so if I seem weird its because I'm kind of not feeling right. But thanks so much. I hope some day the insurance covers the zofran better, I feel so bad for the people with cancer who need it worse than me and can't get it.

Thanks Des, it's so bad I can't take it anymore. I took one after I got off the site and fell asleep and could not be woken for a few hours, and that's from half the lowest adult dose. Then following that I had the worst diarrhea and nausea that I have had in a while and the itching returned. I think I might be allergic to it. At any rate, it is no longer an option, unfortunately, although if I want to be unconscious, it would definitely work. I have to go to town tomorrow morning so I'll be looking into alternative options like the ginger gum and there is a health food store there too. I was so sick for about and hour and a half after, just unreal.
