this just reminds me that even if u get straight C's all through med school you still pass.....

i saw the doc last week for blood tests here are some quotes..and no im not exagerating at all - these people are legaly allowed to practice medicine!

me: well the eye doctor said to stop taking plaquinel and you agreed so what should i be on now instead? (its was effecting my eyes)
doctor: well lupus doesn't really need medication, so you shouldn't be on any

and an even better one

doctor: and who perscribes you cymbalta?
me: well my psychiatrist did, but since i can't see him anymore, you guys do now
doctor: are you sure? i don't think we do...
me: pretty sure

so i went home and looked at the bottle...not only does the clinic perscribe it, but the doctor that was asking me is the perscribing doctors name on the bottle!!!

not having insurance, and not having money sucks. i got denied my social security and no lawyer will take me because i don't have enough medical records from a continual doctor. but i can't get a doctor without medicaide....but i can't get medicaide without dissability....and they won't give me disability because i don't have medical records....stupid governmental circle of crap! if anyone has any advice from their own accounts that might help me that would be great. i really don't think the government even wants to help - im pretty sure i could go up to the ss office and shoot myself in the foot and they'd be like "clean up your mess!" ok done ranting for now lol. hope everyone is well!

Oh good grief..... We've heard so many issues with doctors like yours, girl.  It SUCKS.  Honestly, where do these people get their training and certification?  The college of idiots and quacks?  Do you have any further options to see another doctor or does that get complex with your insurance?

Don't apologize for your rants! That's what we're here for. To listen and offer help or an ear.  Or eyes, in this case.... Hehe...

That really sucks. I always think it's so unfair that on top of being so sick and the problems with it that you have to deal with all this red tape too!
I don't have insurance either and I'm waiting for help from the hospital and until then I have to pay for the medicine out of my pocket and soon I'm going to run out of money and I don't know whats going to happen then! I really do hope that things work out with you though. Keep in there!

As for doctors, my friend worked at a doctor's office once. She told me he got his degree in Mexico and really didn't care about his patients. His only concern was about getting insurance money (her job was to call people and bother them for money; she didn't work there very long). So after that insight, I think it's important to do some research on your doctor. Find out where they went to med school and all that.

Wow Melissa . .. I did some research on my first rheumy before my first appointment and found out that he got his medical degree in Iran (Iraq?) !!! It scared me too as I wondered what I had gotten myself into. It turned out that I was being ignorant. This was the most kind and compassionate doctor I've every had. He spent MORE than the few minutes that gets talked about her so much and he took every bit of information, given by my, seriously. I was SO sorry to lose him (he no longer accepts my insurance). So I think that your point was a good one . . . it just doesn't apply to every foreign doctor and it certainly applies to lots of locals. Knowing you from other posts, I know that you didn't intend that as a blanket statement, but just a warning about what is out there in some doctors offices. . . and it IS a point well taken.
