understanding labs question?

Good Day everyone hope you are all well,

I have question regarding my labs I finally received  my copy from my last labs in Sept. And everything is in normal range except low lymphocytes the range is 1.2-3.4 and I am at 1.0 although  up from Jan when I was .7 which is good as my Dr had me all scared when they were low the first time.  The question I have is on the biochemisty side or the urinalysis. I have low UREA which I didn't have on my last blood test in May. The range is 3.0-7.1 and mine is 1.9.. My Dr appt to go over these isn't until  Dec 29th. I tried to google but all I could find was that is said it was a sign of malnutrion well I am certainly not that I eat like a horse. Does anyone know anything about what that low level means? I would appreciate any insite!

You may want to suggest that your doctor checks your methylmalonic acid and B12, B6 and folic acid counts. Sometime there are nutrients going in to the body, but the body doesn't process things correctly. Low and/or high lymphs seem quite common for CT diseases, I wouldn't worry unles the counts are very high or very low. I get this type of reading a lot and may signal a change in or flare of the disease. Low Urea I believe can be from a few things malnutirition is one of them. I would talk to the doctor about its significance. If your bun, creatine and other blood counts are okay it may just mean something is off balance in your system and you may need to recheck it later. Thanks so much Kristin I appreciate your answer as I tried the site Lynwood mentioned and it didn't have anything for this test. Yes my creatine etc are all normal so I will just wait and check with my Dr.

Well I called my Dr office as there was no listing for a test called BUN on my urinalysis report. I guess that is not a term we use in Canada here it's just called a Urea test so that would be my bun test that is really low. It's dropped from 6.4 in January to 2.2 not in October the normal range is 3.5-7.1. She wouldn't tell me anything more though said I had to wait till Dec 29th to talk to the Dr about the drop.

Sounds like people who work in doctor's office can be annoying everywhere -- making us wait to find out about our own bodies! Ugh.

Hi angela, actually it depends on what lab you use. I live in the uS and Some say Bun and some say Urea. If you go back to lynnwoods post and labs on line.. click and look over to the right at lab test or whatever it's actually under Bunn instead of urea but it mentions urea as the other name. You can read all about it and at the bottom it shows an arrow to chec out the next page. I read about 4 pages on it includin the ranges. 2.1 to 7.2 Mine is 11 ??????? go figure.
I actually thought it was kind of interesting.

ohhh thanks so much Carol no wonder I couldn't find it I was looking under UREA. That helps a lot I can't believe what a range hey yours is 11 and mine is 2.2.. that is a big differance for a similar disease just shows you how differant each one of us really are.
