Hi, I have posted once before but pretty much a lurker trying to come out if the woods :-) ..........

I don't know yet if I have Lupus or not (tested positive, also high ana ) I'm waiting on more extensive blood work. I just have a quick question. What does eye inflammation look like? Does it look like tiny bubbles on the white part of your eye? My eye has been very blood shot like, with little bubbles on the whites.

I think it can very . I have had swelling in my left eye before it was noticable my eyes were also extremely red and Extremely sebsitive to light. I did have the something that looked like bubbles on the whites.

Hi KaAl,

    My right eye is inflammed now. It is red, stinging and watering. I can't see well enough to tell if there are bubbles at this time. I've never really looked that close before. Maybe I can tell better by tomorrow. I was out in the sun for a good while today picking up pecans. Bad me....slapping my hand!!! :-)

   I hope your appt goes well next week and you get some relief. Let us know how it goes and take care.

Welcome KaAl! Glad you decided to come out from hiding! We have some wonderful people here with loads of great experience and with huge hearts!

I am having some strange eye issues right now, too, but I don't have the tiny bubble stuff on the whites of my eyes like you describe. I am going to my opthamologist and rheumy next week for further instructions. Some of the ladies here have suggested that it is, possibly, sjogrens and this seems logical. I hope your appt goes well, too. We should compare notes!

I hope that there is some relief for you soon!

I read your post the other day and it didn't come to me right away but after thinking about it I do remember having little white bubbles on my eyes at times.  Also my the whiles of my eyes have been so swollen that you could see the difference in height from my iris to the whites of my eyes.  Those conditions have never stayed more than a day or so at a time and my eyes have been really inflammed by something when I do have that going on.  I usually will get a cold washcloth and keep putting it on my eyes to help with the discomfort. 

I hope you're feeling better and the inflammation in your eyes has gone down.  If you do end up having to go to the doctor because of this, please post and let me know how you're doing.  Hugs!

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. The little bubbles have gone down some but are still there. My eye doctor gave some kind of drop (steroid) to bring down the inflammation, that was a little over a wk ago.

When you all say your eyes were red, are you taling about the tiny blood vessels? Or just a redness of the eye?

My eyes are affected by the lupus.. They swell up and my opthmalogist says it affects the sclara (sp)... I, too, had to take the steroid drops and the eyeball pain was almost too much to take... I never knew that your eyeball could hurt... I've had two bad attacks in my eye...it has been a while since the last time that happened... I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon....
